The dressing features five layers with a superabsorbent core that captures exudate, converts it into a gel, and locks it away, reducing the risk of maceration and promoting a clean wound environment. Its gentle silicone adhesive ensures secure placement while minimizing trauma during dressing changes.

The foam dressing is highly conformable and designed to follow the contours of the sacral area, providing comfort and flexibility. Its low-profile construction supports patient mobility and positioning while maintaining effective absorbency. Optifoam Gentle EX is suitable for both partial- and full-thickness wounds and may also be employed as part of an injury prevention protocol for at-risk patients.
