Coated Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture, Violet Braided, CTX Needle, Size 2-0, 27" is a synthetic, absorbable suture made of polyglactin 910. The suture is braided and coated to ensure smooth passage through tissue, reduce tissue drag, and provide reliable handling characteristics. The violet color enhances visibility during surgical procedures, allowing precise placement and manipulation. 

The antibacterial property of this suture is achieved through incorporation of triclosan, which effectively inhibits the growth of common surgical pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE. This antibacterial activity helps minimize the risk of surgical site infections, providing an added layer of protection in contaminated or infection-prone environments.

The CTX needle features a reverse cutting design, enabling precise penetration with minimal tissue trauma, suitable for tougher soft tissues and skin closure. The suture maintains adequate tensile strength to support wound healing during the critical early phase, with approximately 50% tensile strength retention at three weeks.
