Description
Prolene Monofilament Suture is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin. This suture is specially designed for use in soft tissue approximation and ligation, including cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures.
The suture is colored blue to enhance visibility during surgical placement and removal. It offers excellent tensile strength and retains it indefinitely in vivo, ensuring long-term wound support where required. Its biologically inert composition leads to minimal tissue reactivity, making it suitable for use in sensitive and critical surgical sites.
The TP-1 needle is a taper point design, ideal for soft tissue penetration without cutting. The single-armed suture features a 60-inch length for versatility across various surgical needs. The smooth, consistent texture of the suture supports precise knot tying and reliable knot security, which is critical in delicate surgical applications.
