Description

Ethibond Braided Suture, Mo-6, Green, 8" x 18" features a taper point needle designed for precision in tissue penetration. The suture is composed of high molecular weight, long-chain linear polyester fibers, providing strength and durability for surgical applications. Its braided construction enhances flexibility and handling, facilitating smooth passage through tissue with minimal trauma.

The suture is coated with a highly adherent, nonabsorbable compound that functions as a lubricant. This coating reduces tissue drag and improves knot security by enhancing the suture’s physical handling properties. The coating also contributes to the suture's resistance to fraying and abrasion, increasing overall reliability during procedures.

Ethibond’s polyester composition ensures nonabsorbability, allowing it to maintain tensile strength over an extended period, which is essential for supporting long-term tissue approximation and healing. The green coloration enhances visibility within the surgical field, aiding in suture placement and removal.

A nonabsorbable, braided, sterile, surgical suture composed of Poly (ethylene, terephthalate). It is prepared from fibers of high molecular weight, long-chain, linear polyesters having recurrent aromatic rings as an integral component. It is uniformly coated with polybutilate or poly {oxy-1, 4 butanediyloxy (1, 6-dioxo-1, 6 hexanediyl)}. The highly adherent coating is a relatively nonreactive nonabsorbable compound which acts as a lubricant to mechanically improve the physical p roperties of the uncoated suture by improving handling qualities as contrasted to the braided, uncoated fiber. The suture is braided for optimal handling properties, and dyed green for enhanced visibility in the surgical field.
